1.Thematic:
Sectoral information.
2.Indicators:
- Infringements: the offences committed are grouped together as
crimes and misdemeanours. Within the former, these are grouped
according to the major typologies and, within each typology, the
presence of specific offences can be observed.
- Sentences: the
information comes from the records of the Public Prosecutor's Offices
(notified sentences). Proceedings (reform proceedings) in which an
accusation is made (allegations) regarding the possible commission of
an offence by a minor, culminating in a sentence handed down by the
juvenile court. These are dealt with according to whether they are
acquittals or convictions and, within the latter, a distinction is
made as to whether they have been reached by agreement of the minor or
not.
- Proceedings and dossiers: the cases that enter the Public
Prosecutor's Offices give rise to preliminary proceedings, which
eventually become reform files when they are not closed. In reform
proceedings, the formulation or not of an accusation (allegations) for
the imposition of a measure on the minor is considered, and may not
necessarily lead to a trial if a dismissal is agreed or an
out-of-court solution is reached.
Within the reform files, it is
of special interest to contemplate the out-of-court solutions, which
settle the facts without trial or sentence, or the pleadings of the
prosecutor's office, in which, under the premise of considering the
criminal nature of the facts, the imposition of a measure for the
minor is requested.
They differ in:
· Proceedings
initiated: Includes preliminary proceedings initiated and amendment
proceedings initiated.
· Filed proceedings and records:
Includes archived preliminary proceedings and archived amendment
proceedings.
- Protection of minors: the activity of the Public
Prosecutor's Offices is summarised in the different types of
proceedings that are broken down, most of them related to the actions
of the Administrations directly responsible for carrying out these
protection tasks, in addition to the visits made to the protection
centres.
