Introduction

Article 14.1 of Law 3/2020, of 18 September, on procedural and organisational measures to deal with COVID-19 in the field of the Administration of Justice, established that "... Up to and including 20 June 2021, once the court or tribunal is constituted at its seat, trials, appearances, statements and hearings and, in general, all procedural acts, shall be carried out preferably by telepresence, provided that the courts, tribunals and public prosecutors' offices have the necessary technical means attheir disposal for this purpose ...".

With the aim of getting to know the volume of the telematic means used by the judicial bodies, ever since Spain’s State of Alarm announcement in March 2020, the evolution of the data on remote proceedings is offered, including trial hearings, court appearances, hearings and other interventions that take place in whole or in part without the presence of any of the people or professionals that intervene in them, either through videoconferencing systems or through a virtual room created for this purpose.

The datainclude:
· Those relating to the platform used by each autonomous community.
· Those concerning data by jurisdiction, distinguishing between civil, criminal, contentious-administrative and social.
· The separation between hearings and trials, on the one hand, and other telematic proceedings, on the other, in each of the jurisdictions.

The data obtained have been classified by autonomous communities and provinces, with theaim of being able to gain direct knowledge of the functioning of the telematics systems and platforms in the judicial bodies. Likewise, the aforementioned data have also been subdivided according to month and year, since the start of these telematics proceedings.
