Traffic accidents
The Toxicological Information Service (SIT) of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences (INTCF) presents the statistical data of the different consultations received on intoxications or exposure to toxic substances in humans, which are attended by a team of 20 doctors through a telephone service available 24 hours a day and which operates uninterruptedly 365 days a year.
The toxicological records of the consultations (aetiology, type of substance or product, types of presentation, route of entry and estimation of the severity of the poisoning) are related to various epidemiological variables (age, sex, geographical distribution, monthly and hourly distribution).
